Geoff Waring

Geoff Waring is a partner at Stoic Venture Capital ILP where he has led investments in 22 university spinoff companies and two other seed stage venture capital funds. He collaborates extensively with Uniseed, where he serves on both Uniseed Investment Committees. He is an angel investor in 23Strands (genomics and AI), HEO Robotics (satellite computer vision inspection), Cleanspace respirators (exited via ASX IPO), Resapp (acquired by Pfizer), Cap-XX supercapacitors (exited via listing on UK AIM), MiHaven (social venture), Whiteford Plastics pallet technology (closed down).
Geoff co-founded medical device company Repartech to raise $1.3M from the NSW Medical Devices Fund. He mentored and sourced external venture capital for several high potential early stage companies such as Atomo Diagnostics (now listed on the ASX). Prior to working in venture capital, Geoff held academic positions in business strategy in business schools at the University of New South Wales, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Emory University and University of California-Los Angeles. Previous corporate clients include McKinsey & Company (New York), AVCAL, Westpac, National Australia Bank, Essilor (France), Mallesons, Edgars (South Africa), Bain Capital (UK), and consulted with Boston Consulting Group’s Chicago office. His PhD in Strategy and Business Economics is from UCLA.
