Professor Jack Jellins
Advisory Board Member
Professor Jack Jellins, a graduate of the University of Sydney and the University of NSW, was a biomedical research scientist based at the Ultrasonics Institute in Sydney. Over a 25-year period, Jack led the research into ultrasonic breast imaging where he made significant contributions to the technology and the clinical evaluation that brought this new imaging modality into mainstream medical practice.
In the 1990s, Jack formed the IBUS Breast Imaging School (as it is now known) and this organisation based in Europe provides intensive short courses for health professionals. The school achieved the recognition of being the leading international provider of multidisciplinary breast imaging courses with a practical “hands-on” focus. Whilst no longer teaching, Jack continues as Founding President and contributes to the IBUS Executive.
