Professor Joellen Riley Munton is a legal academic, with particular expertise in labour law and aspects of commercial law. Her academic career includes six years (2013-18) as Dean of Sydney Law School the University of Sydney. Prior to joining the Australian Academy of Law, she worked as a lawyer in commercial practice, and in recent years she has consulted to boutique employment law firms.

Her board experience includes a year as chair of the board of the University of Sydney’s controlled entity, Westmead IVF, a role on the transitional board of Sydney University Sport and Fitness Ltd, and some years on the board of the Tristan Jepsom Memorial Foundation (a charitable organisation concerned with addressing mental health in the professions).
